Totally Texas
I taught my class 2 days ago at www.scrappnsavvy.com It was so much fun. It is a blast being able to teach such a fun group of ladies. What a blessing that is in my life.
I was inspired by this box idea by another box I saw on Pinterest. A very different box, but it got my brain thinking. I new I wanted to do something with a Texas theme since we have been in Texas for almost 6 years now, and we have bought a ranch and a horse....and a truck. We have become true Texans :)
The box itself is made from a gift box 7x7 inch. It's painted and then covered with Tim Holzt's Tissue paper, and randomly stamped.
Here are some pictures from the inside "pages" Hope you like them.

ScrappnSavvy Blog Hop
Welcome to the first ever Scrappn' Savvy blog hop! During this blog hop, you will visit each instructors' website and see some wonderful projects featuring the We R Memory Keepers "Love Struck" collection. You must leave a comment at each blog, and then return back to the Scrappn' Savvy blog and leave a comment that you have finished the hop. There will be some small prizes given away on each blog for a random commenter, and there will be one grand prize given away from all those comments left on the Scrappn' Savvy blog after you have finished the hop. The order of the blogs to visit is listed below.
Here is a project that I created with the We R Memory Keepers "Love Struck" collection:
I have used a Bare Elements Album. Added the polka dot paper , a fabric swap that I had .I stuck an old playing card behind the linen, before I glued it down. I added the old lace and the old pie tin. I stamped XOX at the end.
In order to peel off a layer of the cardboard, you need to wet it in the corners where you want to tear it. Leave it for a minute and then carefully peel off a little bit. paint randomly around edges and on the page, using a fairly dry brush. I have used regular acrylic paint.Add some paper and a piece of doily. I cut a heart out of burlap/linen. Another swap from looking for a sofa :)
The other side I just added 1/2 a doily and some works from the papers that I liked.
Here i just painted with the same aqua color acrylic paint, added a word strip and another cut out linen heart.
The other side is an envelope, where I covered the flip with the polka dot paper. added2 more fabric swaps. The little chipboard bird, I had originally glittered silver, but changed my mind and added aqua colored glitter. I liked how it turned out when it got mixed.
On these pages , I added the old blue lace along the side, added a word strip from the papers, and more polka dot paper. I love polka dot paper ! The flower on the left, is made from 7 Gypsy tissue paper.crunched together . It cut out using the vagabond and Tim Holzt die. The flag and butterfly is made from 7 Gypsy tape on a tooth pick .
The page to the right is a transparency, I have added the little cupid on the right, on top of a folded piece of fabric. Another fabric swap of a couch that we never ordered :0 I also stamped "XOX "and "What I love about you". The Kaisers little wooden clock face is also glued onto the transparency. On the other side of the transparency , I added a little card from the papers that says All you need is love, This you cannot see from the pictures.
On the next page which is the white canvas page , I only stamped LOVE on the bottom, added som cute ribbon on the side and another aqua glitter bird.
Here I created a small pocket, punched 2 holes on the left side., tied blue lace in the holes/ Added another small piece of fabric swap where I painted the edges aqua blue. I ink distressed the fabric. One more button was added to it. The tag in the pocket was made from some pattern paper. The "ribbon" is a little tiny piece of fabric cut into a ribbon.
On the envelopes side , I added more fabric , lace and a button. I also added patterned paper to the facing flip. The other flip I just cut off, to make them different. Both envelopes will have tags in them, only one has it now.
The back side of the envelope, a little lace, paper and another cut out from the papers I left lot's of space for pictures, since that's what it's all about.
last pages I threaded the blue lace through the punched holes. Knotted the lace in both ends to make it stay put. a few hearts on the other side plus some words. and a stamp in the corner. and we are all done.
This was a fun project to do, it wasn't complicated, and I used a lot of what I had laying around. That always makes me feel good.
Now the question is..... who's pictures will go into this little book ?
Now continue on with the hop and visit the next person in line! Once you have visited everyone's blog and left a comment, be sure to return to the Scrappn' Savvy blog and leave a comment that you have finished the hop!
